Yardstik, a forward-looking venture-backed software company headquartered in Minneapolis, is actively seeking a dynamic Senior Revenue Accountant to join our team. The Senior Revenue Accountant is responsible for accurate calculation and billing of monthly revenues, driving process improvements, enhancing data quality, and optimizing operational workflows across the Revenue Operations function. This role plays a pivotal part in increasing efficiency, ensuring data accuracy, and enabling business scalability through cross-functional collaboration. It is ideal for a problem-solver with a strong grasp of business processes, data governance, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Process Improvement & Data Quality

  • Identify inefficiencies in the opportunity-to-cash process and implement scalable improvements.

  • Develop and enforce best practices for data hygiene, reporting accuracy, and process automation.

  • Enhance data governance and integrity across sales and customer success operations.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for the Ordway billing system; work with the vendor to address unique contract and customer requirements.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Business Support

  • Partner with General Counsel, Sales, Customer Success, GTM Leadership, Business Operations, and other cross-functional teams to align priorities and streamline workflows.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for sales process challenges, translating business needs into actionable solutions.

  • Support decision-making and operational efficiency through improved processes and high-quality data.

Metrics & Performance Tracking

  • Build and maintain reports and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making.

  • Ensure key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting structures evolve with business needs and support growth initiatives.

Month-End & Year-End Close Responsibilities

  • Prepare revenue-related journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analyses during monthly and annual close processes.

  • Assist in completing revenue checklists, technical accounting memos, tax returns, and audit schedules.

  • Support documentation of revenue policies, procedures, and accounting controls.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and support business inquiries related to revenue.

  • Assist in the analysis of standalone selling prices for products and services and contribute to gross margin (GM) evaluations.

  • Generate, analyze, and interpret revenue reports throughout the opportunity-to-cash cycle.

Ad-Hoc Projects

  • Participate in special projects and initiatives to support Revenue Operations, Finance, and broader business objectives.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)

  • 4–7 years of progressive experience in revenue accounting or general accounting, ideally within a SaaS or technology company

  • Strong understanding of ASC 606 and experience with revenue recognition under U.S. GAAP

  • Prior experience supporting month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and audit preparation

Systems & Tools

  • Proficiency in ERP systems and integrated billing platforms (e.g., Ordway, Zuora, Chargebee, Maxio) preferred

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Familiarity with CRM and CPQ tools (e.g., Salesforce, Salesforce CPQ) is a plus
    Experience with reporting/BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau) is an advantage

Compensation

At Yardstik, we are committed to ensuring that each employee's compensation reflects their unique experiences, performance, location and skills in their role. Yardstik provides the annualized compensation range of $95-$125k for this role.
