About you:

We are looking for a foundational Data & Analytics Engineer to be the architect of our data-driven future. This is not a role for maintaining legacy systems; it's a unique opportunity to build our data estate from first principles. You will create the blueprint for how we ingest, model, and utilize data to make critical business decisions.

You are a builder at heart—someone who can not only construct robust data pipelines, models, and dashboards from scratch but can also articulate the "why" behind every architectural decision. Your work will be the bedrock of our analytics capabilities, and you will be empowered to create a scalable, reliable, and high-quality data foundation.

This is a role for a pragmatic problem-solver. You will spend the majority of your time hands-on architecture and engineering, with a secondary focus partnering with business users to foster a culture of data literacy and self-service.

What You'll Be Accountable For:

• Architecting a Scalable Data Estate: You will design and implement a resilient, future-proof data architecture on Azure. Your primary goal is to transform our current data landscape into a powerful, centralized asset that grows with the business.
• Building the Foundation, End-to-End: From raw data to actionable insights, you will build and own the entire data lifecycle. This includes creating robust data pipelines, designing intuitive data models, and developing insightful dashboards that empower our teams.
• Ensure Data Integrity: You will be our lead detective for data integrity. You’ll diagnose the root cause of quality issues, implement immediate fixes to support the business, and architect long-term solutions to prevent them from recurring.
• Data Champion: You will act as a translator and a teacher. You’ll work with stakeholders to understand their challenges, translate their needs into technical requirements, and then coach them on how to use the tools and reports you build.

Are You the Senior Engineer We're Looking For?

• You have a proven track record of building data platforms from the ground up and can clearly articulate the strategic reasoning behind your architectural choices.
• You think in systems and have experience designing scalable, reliable data architectures that stand the test of time.
• You are a tenacious problem-solver, skilled at troubleshooting complex data quality issues and proposing both tactical and strategic solutions.
• You are a natural communicator who can seamlessly shift between technical discussions with engineers and strategic conversations with business leaders.
• You are passionate about empowering others and have a talent for making complex data concepts accessible to a non-technical audience.

Your Toolkit Includes:

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering and architecture.
• Expert-level knowledge of the Azure data ecosystem, or transferable skills and interest in learning Azure data ecosystem.
• Deep proficiency with database systems, especially PostgreSQL.
• Strong programming skills in Python for data manipulation and automation.
• A solid grasp of data warehousing, ETL/ELT, and data modeling principles.
• Experience with modern BI tools (e.g., Metabase, PowerBI) and a passion for building user-centric reports.
• Bonus: Significant experience with Microsoft Fabric or Databricks.
