Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant will own core operational accounting processes, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and month-end close activities. This role will also support internal and external audits, financial reporting, and cross-functional finance initiatives. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic startup environment, is comfortable building processes, and can balance accuracy with efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Core Accounting & Close

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts in accordance with GAAP
• Prepare and post journal entries and adjustments for cash, revenue, prepaids, fixed assets, and accruals
• Support month-end and year-end close processes

Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Own the end-to-end accounts payable process (invoice intake, coding, approvals, and payment runs)
• Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, payment tracking, and collections
• Partner with Customer Success and Sales Operations to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure accurate revenue tracking
• Manage payment exceptions, including chargebacks, ACH returns, and related dispute processes
• Assist with administration and reconciliation of merchant processing accounts
• Support ACH enablement and related customer payment setup activities

Payroll and Compensation Support

• Process semi-monthly or bi-weekly payroll in partnership with our payroll provider
• Maintain accurate employee payroll records, deductions, and benefits reporting
• Support onboarding and offboarding activities related to compensation and payroll
• Assist with sales incentive calculations, payouts, and monthly bonus accruals
• Process employee expense reimbursements

Reporting, Compliance & Projects

• Assist with internal reporting, dashboards, management analysis, forecasting, and financial modeling
• Support annual audits, tax filings, and compliance activities
• Help scale and strengthen finance policies and processes as the company grows
• Support special projects such as system implementations, process automation, or workflow improvements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a SaaS or high-growth startup environment
• Strong understanding of GAAP and standard accounting practices
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero) and proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets
• Familiarity with SaaS metrics, revenue recognition, or ASC 606 is a plus
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
