The Role

We’re looking for an experienced and driven QA Team Lead to run a high-performing quality assurance team in a fast-moving SaaS environment. As the QA Team Lead, you’ll lead a team of QA engineers focused on manual and automated testing, playing a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and usability of our product. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines technical excellence, team mentorship, and strategic thinking.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Manage and optimize the QA lifecycle, including test planning, execution, and reporting.
• Partner with Automation Engineers to maintain a scalable automation framework using modern tools (e.g., Playwright, Cursor.ai).
• Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Design as part of cross-functional pods to influence feature development from the ground up.
• Ensure test coverage across manual and automated suites for regression, API, performance, and end-to-end testing.
• Drive continuous improvements in our QA processes, environments, and tooling to reduce bugs, increase coverage, and improve velocity.
• Proactively adopt and experiment with AI tools and methodologies to enhance QA efficiency and coverage.
• Champion quality throughout the SDLC and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring QA is integrated from ideation to deployment

MUST-HAVES

• 4+ years of QA experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or senior QA role at a SaaS-based company.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Selenium).
• Hands-on experience with manual and automated testing of web applications and APIs.
• Basic familiarity with CI/CD tools and Git-based workflows (e.g., GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Jenkins); able to work within existing pipelines and contribute to ongoing QA integration.
• Strong understanding of testing methodologies, QA processes, and test plan creation.
• Experience with bug and task management tools like Jira or Linear.
• Excellent communication, prioritization, and delegation skills.
• Comfort working in a dynamic SaaS product environment with shifting priorities.
• Passion to constantly seek improvements and efficiencies in the testing lifecycle.
• Experience using AI tools to accelerate testing (e.g., AI-based test generation, flakiness detection, analysis).
• Familiarity with database querying and SQL for test validation

Bonus:

• Prior ownership or architectural involvement in designing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines.
• Deep understanding of how to embed QA practices (e.g., test automation, coverage metrics) into CI/CD workflows for high-throughput delivery.
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally with DevOps and Engineering to enforce quality gates and delivery confidence.
