WHAT YOU'LL DO
About the Team:
The Financial Systems team is at the forefront of optimizing and innovating Braze's financial applications, data management, security, and business processes. Our team is driven by a core mission of enhancing system efficiency, aiming to uncover and eliminate inefficiencies and empowering functional teams to achieve new levels of productivity. We prioritize optimization based on end-user satisfaction, system integrity, and the agility of deployment.

About the Role:
As the Data and Analytics Manager, you will spearhead the comprehensive development of our operational reporting infrastructure. You'll be responsible for orchestrating the entire process, from inception to execution. Your core responsibilities will be devoted to crafting innovative reporting solutions that enhance data quality, introduce fresh reporting capabilities, and streamline operational processes.
Your primary mission is to safeguard and elevate the integrity of our financial systems. Your ultimate goal is to achieve automated detection and correction solutions, ensuring the highest data quality and operational efficiency. Throughout your journey, your focus will be on delivering the right information to the right people at precisely the right moment, optimizing how we drive the business forward.
Responsibilities:
- Bring your extensive years of experience in developing tailored reporting solutions that drive process improvements and bolster system integrity.
- Deepen your understanding of our business by conducting business process reviews and aiding in the maintenance of essential documentation, such as standard operating procedures, decision trees, flow charts, and process improvement plans.
- Take ownership of our operational reporting infrastructure, guiding its growth and evolution.
- Begin by confirming requirements through the creation of low-fidelity reports and mockups, with an unwavering commitment to enhancing data integrity.
- Craft intricate data models, mapping and flow diagrams, encompassing pertinent applications, database elements, and outputs.
- Create a development plan, clearly outlining key milestones for project progression.
- Develop essential deliverables and manage their dependencies, which may include tables, queries, scheduled jobs, reports, dashboards, and collaborative workspaces.
- Supervise user acceptance testing and training to ensure seamless implementation and user adoption.
- Contribute to the creation of administrative and end-user documentation to support system operations and user training.
- Play an integral role in supporting the team's system development life cycle, offering expertise in design, data mapping, post-development testing, and ongoing monitoring.
- Vigilantly monitor the health and integrity of our financial applications, enforcing rigorous standards and policies for their use and adaptation.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process enhancements and propose projects to streamline our business operations.
- Develop reporting solutions and automation tools to support and optimize our business processes.
- Provide critical support for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, including generating reports, developing documentation, and conducting completeness and accuracy checks.
- Stay up-to-date on new tools and techniques that can help mature our team and departments operating model.
WHO YOU ARE
- Expert in SQL, data manipulation and operations reporting.
- Must have at least 2 of the following:
- 4+ years of experience automating business processes using an IPaaS platform like Tray.io.
- 6+ years of experience designing, developing and deploying operation reporting solutions that span across multiple teams and help streamline operations.
- 8+ years of collective experience spanning data engineering, operational reporting, data visualization and process mining.
- Enjoys learning how teams operate and finding ways to make them more efficient.
- Enjoys designing system architecture and building near real-time reporting solutions.
- Able to handle multiple projects and responsibilities with competing priorities.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Maintains confidentiality around sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional experience standing up reporting infrastructures from the ground up at multiple companies.
- Expertise in Tray.io
- Expertise in Workiva WData and Chains, and/or Snowflake
- Versed in data associated with finance processes: Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Record to Report.
- Experience with compliance frameworks, including SOX and SSAE16 SOC.
- Experience working at a public SaaS company.
For candidates based in the United States, the pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $125,000 and $150,000/year with an expected On Target Earnings (OTE) between $145,000 and $180,00/year (including bonus or commission). Your exact offer may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to cash compensation, Braze offers full- and part- time employees a comprehensive Total Rewards package that includes equity grants of restricted stock (RSUs) so that all Braze employees own a piece of our company.
